>My wife introduced me to café con leche. It seems to be a typical way to serve what we in the United States term “coffee”. Instead off half warmed milk and half espresso, my wife prefers almost all milk with a shot of espresso. Add sugar to taste – lots of sugar. Now I cannot drink American style coffee. Give me café con leche or mocha, but no sugar.

I learned to drink coffee this way in Central America and I still do! I go to coffee houses and request a 'tall breve, single shot, no foam.' What I get is a single shot of expresso in a tall cup with steamed half and half all the way to the top so all I get really is flavored half-and-half. Shame on me. Imagine what all of that fat in the half-and-half is doing to my arteries! But it sure is good! :o)
