I think you are making this harder than it really is. On your dev machine, opent the database and then SDT Explorer. Make the necessary changes. Then zip the 13 files specified in the SDT docs and send it to the customer. These files will replace the ones installed on their system. Or, you can create an Installation EXE [e.g., Install Shield] that the customer can run. The 13 files include CoreMeta.*, DBCXReg.*, SDTMeta.*, SDTUser.*, MyDatabase.DBC/DCX/DCT.

If the table stucture is correct and this is also correct in the DBC, look at the CoreMeta table.
