>>I did read somewhere, unfortunately I can't remember the source, that the US was developing new chemical weapons, but in order to circumvent international laws/treaties, the weapons were only to be used within the US against US citizens by the police - this type of use is internationally accepted, apparently.

>Sure, the U.S. always develops tools for the police at MILITARY INSTALLATIONS :o) Kind of dispels the justification that Saddam is a threat because he used WMD on his own people, when obviously we plan to also according to that paragraph (I question the veracity of that however). This is at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Having been there myself, I have no blinders on as to what they do there and tools for the police are if at all, only a byproduct. However, having had information in the past as to what other countries really are doing in biological/chemical weapons development (I am no longer privy to any such information), a lot of what we do is geared towards developing these weapons so we can develop a defense to them. The problem there is the danger involved in developing them at all. Having said all that there is still our government's practice of 'do as we say, not as we do.' No wonder everyone hates us-they think we are all in agreement with everything our government does and
>we all agree with the most vocal opinionists on tv.

Tracy;

October 1951 I was 9 years old and had Scarlet Fever and a week later Rheumatic Fever. The doctor told my mother I was going to die. I was a very sick puppy.

A few years ago I read an interesting story in the San Francisco Chronicle. It seems that during October 1951 the United States Navy was conducting biological experiments off the shore of San Francisco. What was reported was that a specific strain of pneumonia developed by the United States was released into the air from shipboard. The prevailing winds carried the virus into the direction of San Francisco. The Navy kept close contact with San Francisco Hospitals and it was reported that five people died from this specific and unique form of pneumonia.

The conclusion of the Navy was that the operation was a success. This is only one incident and I ask myself how many others have occurred? I also would like to know if Scarlet Fever and Rheumatic fever were released at that same time. Several kids I know had the same diseases at the same time.

I have full faith in our government that is to say; they will do what ever they do for whatever justification that may seem reasonable at the time. The next administration will do things differently so just wait and see what that may be.
