Thanks for your prompt response!

Yes, I am accessing VFP database. I tried that -- SET TALK ON right before SQL-Select. But I didn't see any indication of progress except after the completion of the operation, the status bar showed so many records have been selected in so many seconds. Am I during something else wrong as well?
