I've submitted a BUG report for VFP8 for this very same problem. My problem is that I can't seem to reliable reproduce the problem. I also use a view with a structual index on it. Sometimes, it errors me with the same message.

If you're able to reproduce the problem reliablely in a small example, please pass it on here (and to the VFP team), so this bug can be confirmed by MS.

Table v_viewname has one or more non-structural indexes open.  Please close them and retry the Begin Transaction
