This is really weird. Went to great lengths to repro the error only to find that it strikes with Garrett´s example anyway.

Guess you´re on a Turkish Windows?

Will be interesting what Germans report.

To give some more detail for John et al.:
OS: German Win2k, latest patches
VFP7 on the same machine does NOT show the error! The public VFP8 beta didn´t either.
Other machine with WinXP DOES throw the error.
I tried without CONFIG.FPW and only date and currency German. Same error.
Tried with SET COLLATE "Machine" instead of "German". Same error.

What I´ll do tonite is a clean install on a US English WinXP.

Any other info I can provide?
