Just thought I'd let everyone know that I came up with a solution.
I created a custom class with the DynaZip Events I wanted to use as methods.
I then used the VFPCOM BindEvents functionality to tie the Custom class to an instance of the ActiveX control and it appears these bound events trigger in a modal situation, even when the AX control's own events do not.

Thanks,

- Aaron.
