>HOWEVER, you can change the browser target by setting the TargetSchema on the project properties/designer defaults section and selecting IE 3.02 & Navigator 3.0. Now when you design your web form in GridLayout, the designer will convert your positions to TABLE format automatically using TD widths and TABLEs within TABLEs - basically what Dreamweaver/Fireworks can do if you are familiar with that.

This is where gridlayout falls short of expectations. The rendering in browsers other than IE, even modern ones; is poor except on the simplest of html pages. I can understand issues with 3.x and even Netscape 4.x browsers but modern browsers like Mozilla and Opera fail to render correctly as well.

Gridlayout mode would be useable if it worked as well as Dreamweaver does at writing the HTML from design mode. I would like to see a Target Schema that supports HTML 4.0 compliant browsers and/or supports strict standards instead of just targeting IE. For the majority of development I do now that is the minimum browser level I will support.
