There are currently two issues in creating a demo version of VFP 8.0. For one, if we created a demo/trial version of VFP 8.0, we would have to turn off features to disable the product to the extend to avoid someone using the free version rather than buying a licensed copy. What features do you turn off in order to allow the VFP 8.0 to be used in a trial form but then not useful for real use? A time bomb would not be sufficient, it would require feature to be removed/disabled.

The other issue is resources. In order for us to create a trail/demo edition of VFP 8.0, we would need to make changes to the VFP 8.0 product, tested, etc. This would take time and resources away from working on a potential SP1 for VFP 8.0 (if we decide in the future that one is needed) or instead take away features that we could do for Europa due to less time and resources available from working on the VFP 8.0 trial/demo version. We have not come up with a scenario that we are satisfied with do this.
