They don't look "basically the same" to me...

VFP8, from your quote, says specifically: "Your use of such earlier version shall be governed by this EULA, and your rights to use such earlier version shall terminate when you install the Software.". This PROHIBITS absolutely running the old version once the new is installed.

The VFP7 extract below makes NO statement about usage of the software versions concurrently. The closest it comes is in saying: "...the SOFTWARE PRODUCT may be used and transferred only as part of that single product package and may not be separated for use on more than one computer.". I read this as permitting the USE of both together and expressly stating that the old and the new are considered as a 'unit' for purposes of selling/transferring.

There will be money to be made by the Piracy Police.

>>I realize that you said "basically the same", and not "identical", but to these poor eyes, they simply don't look similar at all. Also, I can't find any reference to 'downgrades' in theV7 EULA.

>You can study both EULAs in detail, but the intent is basically the same for both versions so there shouldn't be view about VFP 8.0 compared to VFP 7.0:

>UPGRADES. If the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is labeled as an upgrade, you must be properly licensed to use a product identified by Microsoft as being eligible for the upgrade in order to use the SOFTWARE PRODUCT. A SOFTWARE PRODUCT labeled as an upgrade replaces and/or supplements the product that formed the basis for your eligibility for the upgrade. You may use the resulting upgraded product only in accordance with the terms of this EULA. If the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is an upgrade of a component of a package of software programs that you licensed as a single product, the SOFTWARE PRODUCT may be used and transferred only as part of that single product package and may not be separated for use on more than one computer.
