Also, VFE is the only framework that has a book published for it. F1, gives you a copy of the book with purchase of the framework. This will greatly help with the learning curve.

>HI Jeff,
>I've been using VFE for about 4 years now. I like it a lot. I started using it at my previous employer and now I use at for myself at home in almost all of my custom development. There are many advantages to using it as you can see by the wiki topi that has already been posted in response to your thread. Others prefer different frameworks--it can be rather subjective. I think the idea of testing each one is a great idea and given the ability to have done so in the past, I would have too. In testing each, I would look at the learning curve, the benefits in development gained, on-line support, oop, and ntier development. Also integration with 3rd party tools.

>>I am am VERY new to VFP. I have been working with a foxpro(win) 2.6 app for about 8 years. It was written around the codebook framework. My question is this - I have been looking at 3 frameworks as I take the plunge into OOP and VFP - Mere Mortals, Visual FoxEpress and Visual ProMatrix. I was hoping to get some feedback as to any experiences/thoughts that those of you with more knowledge than myself might have on this subject.

>>It looks to me like VFE is the most powerful and extensible but does that make the learing curve a lot steeper? Or is my analysis incorrect on that? I downloaded the sample apps from ProMatrix and Mere Mortals. I liked them both but I thought the ProMatrix product looked more polished and easier to make powerful apps with minimal coding?

>>Thanks...a VFP newbie.
Thanks,
