the best approach is to build a system which consists of a set of loosely coupled objects. We offer complete VFP based web platform, which allows to achive this goal and take objects created with Java, PHP, CF, etc. under its web portal umbrella. You would have to ask Java developers to expose their functionality to web requests (it does not have to be SOAP), and thus you would be able to cimmunicate with any exposed functionality.
