Well said, Alan.

I can't believe how many people automatically jumped to the conclusion that this is raggin the VFP Team.
I can't believe how many people 'understand the business reason' for MS' doing this. Like these people do NOT complain about the rising price of gasoline or a steak or toilet paper or...???
I can't believe how many people offer an argument along the lines of 'VFP would be cheap at x times its price given all you can make from it' (dollars-wise). Does a mechanic not make a damned good living with a set of tools costing less than $1,000 ONCE (not every 12-18 months)? Does a writer not make nice big bucks for the price of a typewriter???

There is something off-kilter in this world. I once heard a radio person here say that all that the education system here really produces is GOOD CONSUMERS. I fear he is right.

cheers (well...)

>Ok then, I'll say this one last time. This is not about VFP. VFP is a great product.
>
>This is about MS acting like a politician who raises my taxes so he can line his office in mahogany panelling and oriental tapestries, vote himself a nice platinum plated retirement package, and thinking I'm dumb enough to accept his explanation that it's for my benefit.
>
>MS has given us an upgrade EULA that has made buying an upgrade virtually pointless, and then told us that the EULA was written that way to encourage upgrades.
>
>If being treated that way by MS makes you happy, then I expect that over the next few years whatever Microsoft plans will probably deliver you to Nirvanah.

>>I have to add my two cents worth as well.
>>I have clients who invest many more times what we do in tools of their trade some of them hundreds of thousands of dollars (just look at the price of a Mack truck) and they earn a lot less and work a lot harder than us.
>>All we have to buy is a new computer every couple of years and maybe a new VFP every two or three years. I also have cheapskate clients who want me to supply support and programs for peanuts. I don't like them, I don't need them and when they go somewhere else I applaud.
>>Microsoft probably doesn't need us either and they probably make a loss on their Foxpro investment, so why do they bother anyway. Well let's hope they carry on bothering in spite of the wingers out there who want something for nothing (or next to nothing). We have a great saying in our office "Those who buy the cheapest seats in the house scream the loudest"
>>Come on guys and gals, for Gods sake wake up and accept we live in the real world where Ken and his team produce really cool Vfp programs and we pay a relatively small amount to use them.
>>(Well maybe that was a little more than two cents worth)
>>Happy Vfp-ing to all whatever you pay
>>John
