>The software market is maturing,MS has to find ways to produce revenue or they will not be there for all those that make a living from the MS product line, remember without them you would not have a job or product to sell. Think of it this way, if you creat a software product and sell it to everbody in the market that it was produced for where will reciecve your income from? The UPGRADE'S

I'm ready to offer the 2¢, but I can't see the sense in what you write here...

First, you title this "Complaining". Now what is someone supposed to do when the learn - NOT from the author/owner of the EULA - MS has changed the "rules" of the game without notice of any kind?... just ignore it or say 'why thank you, MS, I appreciate all my suppliers being deceptive like this and I hope you will do it again soon PLEASE'? I don't think so! I think that most people here (by far) were totally unaware of this "improvement" and so would have kept on merrily using VFP7 and by doing so be wide open to piracy charges.

Secondly, MS isn't the only company faced with the problem of growing/continuing revenue. But I have seen very few stoop to a low like this - especially when they have "Evangelist" positions (alledgedly) aimed at "building community". Secretly changing a material clause in an agree show fine respect for their "communities".
And I don't think that MS' ship is in jeopardy of sinking any time soon, though they WILL expedite it with stupid moves like this EULA thing!!!

Finally, what's this about our getting our later revenue through upgrades?... MS gets money from a VFP8 UPGRADE. And it seems to me that the upgrade price is up somewhat this time around. But they seem to need MORE money and are using a secret upgrade clause amendment to do this in two ways:
1) people who learn about it may have to spring for a full version to remain legal;
2) those who don't learn about it or those who know and choose to ignore it, are leaving themselves wide open to later piracy charges.
And I don't have to use the latest software to be able to deliver an upgrade for my own work either.

So you see, Bill, I don't get your point, and if it is that we all should just shut up and bless MS and pray for them to make even more money by whatever means they like then I think you have it wrong. We are CUSTOMERS and CUSTOMERS count. WE are how MS makes its money.
