Also note that Opportunistic Locking can cause a slowdown.
MS recommend in KB 244992 that a FLUSH (not a VFP flush) is carried out in NT to clear the cache at the end of a transaction.
We have found that with Win2K servers applying the registry fixes in KB 299603 gets over that problem as well. If there are no opportunistic locks slowing down access the corruptions seem to be fewer as advertised.
Also check out KB 300216 where Jet databases experience problems with OpLocks on the server.
It's not just VFP :(
