Tracy;
Some people in high places, those persons whom we call decisions makers, movers and shakers, are guided by the stars, and in some cases what I term the “psyco hot line”. Call my 900 number for “all the answers”.
I think there is a parallel between decision makers in the business world and the public school system. The public school system is there to “socialize your child and not educate them”. I have been told this by many people in education. Businesses and business executives seem only interested in socialization. Take “Corporate/Company Culture”, being a “Team Member”, and similar terms.
Why make serious well thought out solutions when you are a part of a group that wants to have three Martini lunches and have everyone happy so you can kiss them where they sit down? "I am in charge therefore you will comply with my demands"!
Not to worry! The board of directors meeting will flush out these people and then they will get 10 to 100 million to leave and not come back, just before the pink slips come or the company goes belly up. In the case of governmental offices, there is so much more to consider! Like who is in the office of the chief executive. Yes, it is all about relationships, socialization, and knowing about how to play the game. :)
