Isolationalism must look attractive when you guys feel blamed from all directions.
However, a significant chunk of US wealth and success comes from profitable commerce with the rest of the world.
Also reflect that you *need* to communicate externally for some stuff. E.g. rights for anesthetic gases are vested in a tiny european nation; presumably you'll still want to be able to provide anesthetics in the USA? ;-) And I'm sure MS will be keen to keep exporting copies of Windows, VFP and Office to the external dreadfuls...

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
