>I belonged to the S-100 Computer User Group in San Jose. Lots of stories! Concerning the Eagle computer, when we lived in Campbell, California (a bit north east of San Jose, I would drive by the Eagle company in the Los Gatos area. They made an excellent machine and we thought highly of it and the company. I had some friends that worked there.

>One day around 1982 (?), the owner had just signed a huge contract late in the morning. By about 1 PM that day we received word that he took the two men who signed the contract on behalf of their company to lunch. The owner was the driver of the car and he hit a tree and was killed instantly. The company went out of business as I recall, not long afterward but I do not remember all the details. When I drive past the building and tree where he was killed I remember how sad this was and is.

I had forgotten about the accident. Yes, there were a lot of sad people. They had a very "PC compatible computer" with better pricing than IBM. I had comitted to Eagle being my primary line so I worried a lot.
Just remembered I do still have an Eagle portable PC in one of the basement closets. Remember that one? I think the CRT is 7 or 8 inch and the computer is the size of a medium size suit case. One of these days I'll dig it out and see if it still works.
