Still, the vast number of countries are perhaps "vocal" by their relative silence. I think the better part of the world is playing this what I would call "the right way." Which is to say, the bulk of nations are basically reserving long-term judgement to see exactly how this all unfolds.

The US may yet come out of this in fairly good shape, and still take out Hussein, I have not given up that hope. The best chance I see for this is Hussein refusing to destroy "medium-range" missiles - we might get by with much of the world's support, if we play our cards right and Hussein plays his wrong (which he seems inclined to do).

Keep the focus on destroying these missiles (a legitimate war issue, I think), and we may be okay with our long-term world-standing.
