>I'm going to recompile a VFP app from 6.0 to 7.0. Do I need to bring users down to recompile with the database being used. I use a test database for development and never recompile with the actual database being used. The question is, do I need to recompile with the live database.

As far as I know VFP 6.0 is binary compatable with 7.0 and it is from my limited testing. I took a large exe written in 6.0 and ran under 7.0 to test this and I saw no problems. It was not a complete and thorough test as I did a quick run ????

Having said that I would reccommend this from an administrators perspective. When there are problems in the future that are difficult to trackdown your only means to do so may be to illiminate things. So do the proper thing now, recompile in 7.0 offline post back to production and keep your production as sanctimonious [SP ?] as possible. By the time you have problems you will have had some time in production with the dbc and you will have illiminated this possiblity before hand.
What ben makes tracks for what wil be. Words in the air pirnt foot steps on the groun for us to put our feet in to.
