Chris;
Yes, the Republican Form of Democracy will prevail. Our elected officials may do as they please and not have to worry about being appreciated by the public until election time comes up. Then the officials will promise anything to get re-elected and we get to start all over again.
What amazes me is how quickly the voters forget little things at election time like the economy and accomplishments. It does not matter which party is in office. This is just a feature of our form of democracy as well as our history.
Things have to get really bad before the voters react, which has occured. An example: Ford vs Carter. Both are truthful and honorable men. Ford was hurt because of Nixon and no republican could win that election year. Carter should not have been elected president which I say after the fact. He has helped many people in the world since he was president.
