Consider this "Old Horse" beaten! You are correct, after the re-read of Ken's response it is clear that removal of the old product is necessary, albeit, impractical from a conversion standpoint. During the conversion it seems likely that both versions are required from time to time until it is complete. Oh well, the great Oz has spoken. Damn the torpedos, uninstall 7 when I get 8 and hope for the best.

>At the risk of beating a dead horse, it IS the case. This has been discussed almost to death. What the 'downgrade' clause says is that you are not required to install the new version right away. You may instead use the older version for a reasonable time (whatever that means), but then you are obliged to uninstall the older version and install the new version.

>In other words, you may NOT have both on your system at the same time if one is an upgrade to the other. Also, and this is the one that I really love above all else, if you buy the upgrade, you are obligated, under the license, to use it. You cannot simply sit it on a shelf for a year and let it gather dust while you happily run with the old version. You bought it, you better damn well use it.

Though Visual FoxPro 8.0 and Visual FoxPro 7.0 can exist on the same computer, you cannot install Visual FoxPro 8.0 in the same directory as Visual FoxPro 7.0."
