I tried using dbf help, except it does not seem to work once compiled, outside of the VFP Main Window (it's only meant for apps running in the VFP window, correct?).

WinHelp refers to the old-style HLP files. The "modern" way, according to Microsoft (and much easier to design, according to me) is to create CHM files.

If you are interested, you can find an introduction (almost a step-by-step tutorial) in my article http://www.levelextreme.com/Magazine/November2002/Page29.asp.

Hilmar.
