I have only 1 out of my 10 networks running Windows XP Pro. The others are all running Win 2K Pro with 256 memmory.
The network running Windows XP Pro is by far the slowest.I now only buy machines preloaded with Win 2K Pro.
From where you are now your best bet is to upgrade to XP Pro. XP Home can be a nightmare on a network.
