Anybody seen this little gem? Or even better, have a solution?
VFP7 SP1 with Crystal Reports 9.0. Deployed using InstallShield Express 4.0. Crystal Reports merge modules reportengine.msm, rdcruntime.msm, rdcdesigntime.msm, mapping.msm, and license.msm all included. (The latter with license number included as well.) So far, I have tested this only in Windows 2000 Pro.
The install on client’s machine appears completely normal and the VFP application runs just fine. It instantiates a Crystal wrapper object at start up, but does not instantiate the "CrystalRuntime.Application" until it is needed for report preview or printing. When that happens, the Windows Installer spontaneously starts in a separate window and if not CANCELed, will attempt to reinstall the entire VFP application. If it IS cancelled, the Crystal report preview or print function works as advertised and the VFP application continues normally. This only happens on the first call to the CrystalRuntime. All subsequent calls to Crystal in the VFP session work as expected. If the VFP app is closed and restarted, the same sequence of events reoccurs. BTW, a call to the embedded report designer results in the same sequence, with the addition that after the Installer is cancelled, it gives, as expected, an OLE error for lack of license.
