As you can glean from several pieces of news, it seems that on the one hand, Microsoft is strongly opposed to Linux, pressumably because the consider it a potentially dangerous competition.
On the other hand, I understand that the .NET platform is specifically designed to work with different operating systems - and I believe that versions for Linux are already appearing.
