Could you describe what you like about VFX and perhaps how it compares to any other VFP frameworks that you might have looked at? It seems that VFX doesn't have much of a following in the U.S.A. Does it have a larger following in Europe?

Here are some of the features I like about Visual Extend:

  • User management.
  • List of last forms opened in "files" menu).
  • Forms save their position and size on a per-user basis.
  • Grids save their column order and width on a per-user basis.
  • Double-clicking on any grid header will set the order, creating temporary indices if so required.
  • User-defined sorting on multiple columns is also supported.
  • Form saves last sorting order automatically.
  • Audit trail functions.
  • Parent-child relations between two or more forms.
  • One-to-many forms - I don't particularly like this, but I thought I should mention it for completeness sake.
  • Several pre-defined variables on a per-user basis. The developer can add additional variables easily. Variables are saved on exit to the user table.
  • "Quick report" lets you quickly print the contents of a form, without having to design a report (based on grid information).
  • User-defined filters.

The documentation, which you can download, includes a much longer feature list, but those are a few of my favorites.

I also suggest you download the test application, which shows off several of the features.
