Is there any reason the minimum setting "before the treeview goes dynamic" is set at 400? I would suspect it could be quite setting it to a much lower number, perhaps 50 or 100.
Or perhaps an alternative would be to have everything - not just individual threads - initially collapsed.
The point is that there are several categories in each forum in which I am not particularly interested - for instance, frameworks I don't use. I assume that the situation is similar for other participants.
