Thanks for the reply... I finally had to resort to using an old java applet to do this. I am dynamically creating an array for the applet each time the page is requested. I did not want to make a round trip to the server just to show a news type headline. I want it to remain and function client-side.
I looked into and implemented a control using the settimeout() method - but Netscape choked on it. It worked in Opera and Ie, but not Netscape. It looked promising, but to no avail.

>Can't you use a Meta Refresh tag to refresh the page every x seconds or less and somehow track your location in the list? Without the refresh you're not likely to get your updated data right? Or are you talking from a script page that pulls data to the client?
