Jim,
I agree with you (and George, evidently) that a UT list known bugs would be of great benefit.
We would
1. Have some idea of the date the bug was discovered,
2. Have some idea of how long it took to fix
3. Garner suggestions for workarounds in the meantime.
Having MS be the sole repository for bug lists is NOT a good idea since
l. MS may not be as eager to share bug knowledge as the developer community and,
2. It seems to take MS a very, very, very long time to acknowledge and publish bugs. I have reported obvious bugs that seem never to have been fixed, discussed, posted, mentions or acknowleged by MS. At least if they were, I have never found where.
3. It is certainly know hardship for MS to go look at the bug list to find out about bugs and even contract the originator of the bug report if necessary.
So, Michel, how about it?
Regards,
Jim Edgar
