What I do to preserve the report formatting is to issue:
lcResource=SET('RESOURCE')
lcName=SET('RESOURCE',1)
SET RESOURCE TO PRINTP
... do report
SET RESOURCE OFF
IF lcResource='ON'
SET RESOURCE TO &lcName
ENDIFwhere PRINTP is any name that you would like to get to your resource file. So, you can run it from everywhere and that resource file will be grabbed for the specific report.
Note that this is an approach which I have been using for years. There might be something simpler right now.
