>Is there a way to bypass the 'Printer Not Ready' message when no printer is attached to the local computer? Is there an easy way to select a netowrk printer in the DOS 2.6 app?
FP DOS can print only to DOS devices, typically the parallel ports LPT1 through LPT3. The trick is to use the network redirector to redirect those ports to a network printer. Usually this is done before the app is started, in a batch file or logon script, e.g.
NET USE LPT1 \\ServerName\SharedPrinterName /persistent:y
