At the SQL Mag Conference in May 2002, Bill Vaughn show that the .NET ODBC provider was in some instances faster than the Native (managed) SQL Server Adapter.

Yikes.

VFP was built to access data, with the UI added over time.
Not sure yet what VB's focus is yet (15 years and counting).
