>>>Marcel, you can send HTML messages trough simple MAPI using Eudora as the mail program.

>Marcel, MAPI is an interface between you and a email program. Both of you have to be speaking the same language, i.e. MAPI. Thus, there are MAPI commands that you send to the MAPI compliant email program; that email program acts as the MAPI server (this is why under Eudora you can check the checkbox "Use Eudora as the MAPI server".
>As you see MAPI is in both sides of the equation.
>If you want to send HTML formatted messages using MAPI, you can do it with Eudora as the MAPI server, and you can't do it with Outlook as the MAPI server (don't get confused with the term server as these two programs are mail clients; they are both things, mail clients and MAPI servers).

>So, if you can't quit using Outlook you are not going to be able to send messages through MAPI and you will have to use automation. To me, using Outlook for email and not being able to change is the same as using VB for database programming and not being able to take a look at VFP: you only get less performance, more bugs, more viruses, ..., and only because "everybody uses it".

It's a great explanation!
