Thanks for looking at it Michel. Regarding this problem, it doesn't make a difference if I use base or custom classes for all the controls in the grid. There's no way I can find to adjust the size of the textboxes in Edit mode, other than changing the font (ie. Column.width doesn't effect Edit mode). Also, other than this slight annoyance, I find the Edit mode useful for editing in a grid. As you know, if a record has many fields, the edit mode is preferable, so the user can see all the fields. I have a neat tool that I'm working on that is a "replacement" for the Browse command. It interprets almost all of the Browse command options and adds a bunch of neat visual and functional features on top of them. I use it for development and in applications. It has too many features to explain here, but I just wanted to let you know why I came upon this. I've worked a lot with grids. I've resorted to switching the font, on the fly, to MS Sans Serif when the user toggles to Edit mode. And then I put it back to Arial when they toggle back. Thanks again. Best regards. Mark
