IP Address. But in practice I think once the name has first been resolved then the route is cached locally and there would be no significant difference. You could consider an entry in the HOSTS file - the advantage being that it is checked first for name resolution thus bypassing DNS lookup and also gives you just one place to change the IP address is neccessary.
