>Scary stuff. It was the story of the guy who at one time was in charge of Iraq's efforts to create a nuclear bomb, despite their signing The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Some of the highlights:
>
>1. France built the nuclear reactor for Iraq
The problem with capitalist or any country with something to sell – in this case nuclear technology is, anything for a buck!
>2. Israel destroyed the reactor
Talk about preemptive – this was a good move and timely.
>3. Saddam jailed and tortured scientists working on the project who either weren't making enough progress or spoke out against the project.
There are so many horrible stories of how Saddam treats others.
>4. The scientist was taken to the secret chemical and bio weapons labs.
Not a pleasant thought.
>5. He doesn't see any way any number of inspectors are going to find these weapons. It is too easy to hide them.
The weapons could be found if Iraqis who knew the locations told the inspectors, if the inspectors somehow managed to locate them, or we may be the recipients of such weapons while we sleep.
