At the risk of beating a dead horse, although I feel you have a point, what doesn't make sense to me is that Microsoft feels it's loosing something by allowing us to keep a version of a piece of older software which is usually nothing but a subset of the new version. I would understand if we were talking about having them in different computers and using them concurrently, but otherwise I don't.
