What I don't understand is a bunch of Web sites host a Fedex Web Service but not Fedex itself. Also, most of those Web sites are charging for the use of their Web Service. And, most of them are not compliant to the Microsoft SOAP client. So, basically, by using most of them, nothing works at all.
I just called Fedex a minute ago. Their support says that they have given permission to those 3rd party sites to host a Fedex Web Service. I told them they should do it directly as most of them are really providing a bad image over Fedex and they should readjust things over there. Basically, we have accounts and we already are able to query those shipment IDs on their Web site. So, it shouldn't be too difficult for them to support the Web Service directly on their server. I also have this situation. Some clients do also request the same and I really don't know what's the best approach to do.
On the call, I've been transferred to the FedEx Ship Manager API. I left a message. So, maybe tomorrow someone will call. I really need to know more about this ability. IAC, that's the number: 1-800-810-9783.
It isn't clear if the API is being referred as a Web Service. But, it'd be the closest service about it from FedEx.
