By default, VFP8 performs record count validation when table is open and when new records are added to a table. The level of validation is controlled by new SET TABLEVALIDATE Command. VFP7 doesn't perform such validation. I would recomend that you fix corrupted tables and you shouldn't have problem openning them in VFP8.
