>>C'mon, Chris, it's not a "one excuse fits all" kind of thing!

>Actually, it's in U.N. Resolution 1441, which I believe calls for immediate and total Iraqi disarmament. When even Hans Blix says that Iraq is not completely disarming, what does that tell you?

One thing it DOESN'T tell me - that we should bomb the hell out of Iraq while Saddam continues to be very effectively tied up by inspections.
You know, a closer look at the overall situation says that Iraq has been being decimated already by actions in the no-fly zones that have been escalating. And preparations on their own soil in the north of Iraq will ensure even greater "efficiency" of the military effort once it commences.

Last night President Bush stated that every effort will be made to spare civilian lives. While I am sure that he is indeed earnest in his intent, I contend that it is an IMPOSSIBLE task given the use of conventional weapons only and in the heat of battle.

The anxiety to war because someone chooses to operate in a different way than is satisfactory to President Bush is hard for me to understand.
As far as I can see, 1441 IS WORKING. Just not the way President Bush feels it must.
