My Report Engine would work exactly like what you are looking for with the exception of the HTML output. My ActiveX Component works more like a Desktop Publishing control than a Banded Report control. I added the banded report functionality to it so I could process and run VFP Reports. If you look through that DemoIT() Method code you will see how this method is very similar to what you are doing in your response to Jim.

Instead of a WRITE() Method I have an AddText() Method. You can keep track internally in your code as to where you want to paint the text on the page. You can add new pages using the NewPage() Method and move to different pages even after you have painted up a page using the GoToPage() Method and then add more text, shapes, pictures or charts to a page. So you have a lot of flexibility in painting text to the pages. Everything is painted in ZORDER by order of placement onto the page. So you can even overlap objects very easily onto a page.
