The only thing I can think of (and goes back to DOS days) is the Config.Sys file. I just ran into this with a client under Windows 2000 -- locally. For some reason, they had a C:\CONFIG.SYS with the setting

FILES=30

Which ---duhhh VFP would choke on for any real production application. So I just bumped this to FILES=250 and all is cool.
