Dennis, John has explained the way to get the physical size of any file in bytes. But reading your message it seems you might also be interested in:

RECCOUNT()   &&  Number of records, deleted plus non-deleted
COUNT FOR !DELETED() TO nNotDeleted  && Number of non-deleted records

RECSIZE()    && The size of a record in a table
HEADER()     && The size of the table header
