I am not sure, perhaps you can intercept the KeyPress event.
But I want to point out that you can also change property .Enabled = .F. This will make it impossible for the user to click into the control. (This can be a disadvantage: The user can't select text and then select "Edit | Copy". In general, a disabled control can't react to any user input.) It will also appear in disabled colors.
