Dmitry,

Hopefully this idea will work out for you. As far as finding the prior message, I keep a list of good tips so that I can use them in the UT Magazine article. The referenced message is one that I find useful to keep track of. I have recommended others to it in the past.

The UT searching is also quite useful to find past postings. It has helped me find information by using key words that the posting needs to contain. Hope this helps.

>Cathi,
>Thank you very much for the suggestion and for the message with code. I will try it vs a dropdown, as Bonnie suggested.
>If I may ask you something else. I am new to UT and was wondering, how did you get the message # for the subject? You can't possibly remember it all. Or maybe you can <g>.

>>>What is the "accepted" way of doing a lookup in WebForms?
>>>
>>>For example, in a Web Form for creating invoice, you have to enter/select the vendor. In Windows application this is done by a lookup button next to the Vendor textbox and a pop up of vendor table grid in a separate window.
>>>
>>>In a web form this would require a new webform with vendor table DataGrid to be displayed, where user can select a vendor and return to the Invoice web form.
>>>But it takes time to load a new web form on every vendor selection.
>>>
>>>Any suggestions? Any white papers or examples I can download showing "more efficient" ways of doing look up in web forms.
>>>
>>>TIA.
