Our application is a distributed app over about 40 plus offices. Each night, through a process we developed, the users in each office will upload their data to us. This process involves extracting any changed records and zipping those files up and ftping to a centralized server here. Everynight, we have a central process that will check for these upload.zip files and merge each into a central database. We then extract from the central database, any changes, and create a download.zip that we send back to each office. Here, in our regional office, we run this application and keep our database up to date with the daily downloads (this office is the exception and receives all changes). So, it's when they are merging the download (a datatransfer utility) that they encounter the fpt problem. There are a few of users that access the database directly through foxpro, just to pull off some numbers or to check something, they don't access the database through the application. So because their copy of the database should basically contain everything in central, whenever they get this problem, I just copy over the file from the central location and everything is fine until it happens again. It happens sporadically and according to these users, nothing strange is going on. I mean, they just open the file - do whatever they have to do - and then close the file.
So I am at a complete loss. Help! :)
