Strangely enough, we're covering this very topic in another thread right now. Actually, fox does have a 2GB limit on .dbf, .fpt, and .cdx files. Sounds like this restriction may have been somewhat loosened in VFP 8.
As far as encountering probs at the 1GB size, I haven't experienced that one before. What all is acting on this table (or that Memo specifically)?

RE: It is a program run on a network with multi-users. The actions are view and replace in text box format on one form, and on others, simple replace commands to add data to the memos on certains records. I am not sure if it was right when it hit 1 GB or shortly after, but this has happened various times before, so I believe it is not another factor causing it. We have archived the table to split it up so this does not occur anymore, but looking at future growth, I would like to know why this does this and plan for it.
