From your earlier message, "File Bloat" refers to the Fox's habit of creating huge amounts of wasted space in a memo file. Every time you make a slight editing change, Fox rewrites a large block of data into the file and leaves the old version (like a deleted record in a .DBF). The solution is to once in awhile do a COPY TO which gets rid of the "Bloat".
No 55 megs is not too much. In theory they can be 2 gigs.
How is the receiving station doing the update? Is it merely looking for a file to appear in a particular directory and then append it? If it does you probably have a timing problem. The 'missing or corrupted' message could simply indicate that the importing program tried to process a file that was not completely transferred by the FTP program.
