What command causes the change? What do you see that tells you how it's changing?

In the lowest level form class do something like change the BackCOlor and make sure the change is seen through all levels of inheritance and the form itself.

USE TheTroublesome.SCX and check the classloc column, everything should be relative paths. Do the same thing with all the relevant classlibs. Do you have all the code on a single drive? Do you have the same SET PATH in effect at all times? Do a drive search looking for all instances the relevant VCX and SCX files.
